Relief or not?!?!?!?

Well I did all my sign out paperwork last Friday at work since I would be off on leave all this week. My official last day is Sunday, July 31st. I had a really hard time walking out the office door for the last time last Friday, and yes, I cried. Kind of hard not to after spending over 6 years of my life there. I also feel relieved that I won't have to get up at the crack of dawn and try to move my body to prepare for work. The really bad part of losing my job is losing the health insurance for myself, Ed, and Brent. That totally tears me apart. I guess there is a little bit of good in this too in that since I won't have to pay for health insurance, I'll actually bring home more money on unemployment! Got most of my meds changed to ones that Kroger offer for $4 a month but really worried about 1 of Ed's that doesn't come in generic form and costs about $600 per month. I have to find a way to pay for it because I certainly don't want him to just stop taking it. Maybe since I will be bringing home more money we can still get it, I am really praying hard. Don't get me wrong, I miss my job already and most of the people I have worked with but I think my body was tired of getting up and going everyday with all it's problems, LOL! I plan to apply for disability when my body recovers more if I am still unable to do things and I am sure that will be a long road too. I have until August 15th before the kids go back to school and I sure wish I was physically able to do more with them before they go. They both seem to be very excited about going back to school and I am thankful for that! I guess for now I am happy doing things on my computer at home and I have more time to devote to selling unwanted household items and kids clothes on Yardsellr. You can visit me there at yardsellr.com and search for me at Kim Dunlap Gordon. Oh, and I am selling a lot of my work clothes too, don't have much use for those anymore, LOL! Love to all!

Back Surgery

Well I did it. I had back surgery this past Monday (July 25th). I really didn't want to do it but since they told me if I didn't have it I would become wheelchair bound in the years to come I figured I better do it. At least my pain before surgery before was manageable with pain pills. Now it seems I have to double up on them to get any kind of relief at all. My daughter has been calling the doctors office for 2 days now and they have yet to return them. I guess I am at least thankful that doubling them up is giving me a little more relief. This seems to be the worst surgery I have ever went through and I have had several surgeries so far. I don't think I would recommend back surgery to anyone but may have changed my mind since just hearing the word wheelchair. For those of you that know me well and have been to my house, you know a wheelchair would just not work here, LOL!I hope I can recover very soon as the kids go back to school on August 15th and I want to spend as much time with them as I can.

Crock-pot Meatloaf

Ok, so Ed gets me this great new cookbook for crock-pots from America's Test Kitchen. We made the recipe for Classic Meatloaf and it was pretty good! I was shocked that a meatloaf of all things can be cooked in a crock-pot! Now I can't wait to try some more recipes from the book and keep the kitchen cooler! Whee ha!
